Shirley Stevenson's prints are a direct response to the structures and patterns found in nature. She typically begins with drawings, finding inspiration in change and embracing playfulness with composition, materials, and process. Utilizing both intaglio and relief printing techniques, she creates small editions and one-off prints. Shirley finds joy in the openness and uncertainty of allowing ideas and images to develop organically throughout the printmaking process.
